| | Funny story... So I had to go in and sign a bunch of paperwork allowing the university to perform a background check on me. One paper was a general statement that says I've read the rules. One was a form I had to fill out listing any/all crimes I've been convicted of and addresses for everyplace I've lived in the past 10 years. And the last bit of paperwork was a hardcopy of my online application. Why would they give me a copy of my own application, you ask? Well, it turns out that here in Nebraska, speeding tickets (among an assortment of VARIOUS other tickets the lady listed off for me) are considered a misdemeanor. I'm not the only one who wasn't aware of this, thankfully. The lady helping me was quite well versed in all the tickets that are considered a misdemeanor. We had a good laugh about all the poor saps out there who got caught urinating in public and had to report it on their job application. ... And then I spent the next 10 minutes racking my brain, trying to remember any/all of the traffic violations I may or may not have gotten over the years. My total? One definite speeding ticket, one possible accident ticket, and one possible expired registration ticket. Thankfully, warnings don't count, so I didn't have to total up any of those... :P Silliness. |

| Just applied for a new and different job. I don't expect to get it - and part of me actually hopes that I don't, funny enough. It was the fact that I took a step in that direction that was important to me... no more sitting and bitching without action. And no more fearing failure so much that I don't attempt anything new. Honestly, going back to school (and racking up MORE student loans) sounds better than anything else. Maybe that's because I'm longing for the good ol' school days when my schedule was flexible and my responsibilities were minimal. :sigh: |

| Happy New Year, everyone! And so begins my month of cleansing (aka: sobriety). I may or may not take a break on Saturday, since that's the Zoo Bar Christmas party - we'll see. Either way, my body should enjoy the break... especially considering the lack of sobriety it had to endure on New Years Eve. |
